If the shares do not exist, create them manually.
To confirm and set up shares
- At a command prompt on the client, type the following command:
net share
- If you do not see the ADMIN$, C$, and IPC$ shares listed, create them.
Follow the directions for your version of Windows.- In Windows 2003/XP, at a command prompt, type the following commands:
net share ADMIN$=C:\WINDOWS
net share C$=C:\
net share IPC$
- In Windows 2000, at a command prompt, type the following commands:
net share ADMIN$=C:\WINNT
net share C$=C:\
net share IPC$
- In Windows 2003/XP, at a command prompt, type the following commands:
- If you did not install Symantec System Center on drive C, create a share for the drive on which Symantec System Center is installed.
For example, if Symantec System Center is installed on drive D, at a command prompt, type the following command:
net share D$=D:\
